I replaced my front brakes and rotors about 3-5K ago and put new tires on all around about 3K ago. If I push on the brakes harder the vibration seems to disappear. If you feel it in your seat it is usually from a warped drum.

The vibration only lasts 15 seconds then stops. If it was the torque converter it would go away when you step on the brakes as the ECM takes it out of lock up when it sees a brake pedal input. The emergency brake actually the parking brake is activated by mechanical linkage.
Anytime I press that brakes beyond 70 there is a slight vibration in the brake pedal. I have steering wheel-front end shimmy when braking from 40mph or more. I experienced severe vibration in the steering wheel while braking while on a 5-8 grade driving from Flagstaff to Phoenix towing a camping trailer approx 3200lbs welectric brakes.
